Punching for a Cure

Frequently Asked Questions

About Punching for a Cure

This is my first time. What can I expect?

add remove

Don’t stress! Lots of participants will be in the same boat. At the start of your session, your Rumble trainer will take you through some safety protocols, a short warm up, and several key boxing moves that you will use during your session. Your trainer will be showing you the ropes and hyping you up the whole way through!

Can I go to Rumble Boxing to practice/train?

add remove

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. The excellent team at Rumble Boxing Subiaco are offering new members three free classes. They have also created some specific training sessions for Punching for a Cure participants.

Registration

Does every team member need to register?

add remove

Yes, every person participating in this event will need to complete their registration online to ensure we capture all of the details for the day, T-Shirt size, and sign the T&Cs and Waiver for the event.

Can we pick what time we are punching?

add remove

Unfortunately, due to the high number of teams and participants, we will not be able to accommodate teams selecting their time slots.

When will I know what time we are punching?

add remove

We will reach out to you 4 weeks prior (first week of February) to confirm all team slots with participants.

When/where do I collect my t-shirt and wraps?

add remove

Your complimentary PCHF branded shirt and standard wraps will be available for collection when you check in on the day. Please have one person from each team check in and collect for everyone.

Event Day

What should I wear?

add remove

Boxing can be quite the workout! We encourage you to wear active or exercise clothes and closed in shoes (runners or sneakers are appropriate), as well as your PCHF branded shirt which is a lightweight sports t-shirt.

If you would prefer to wear your company’s t-shirt/brand, that is not a problem.

What do I bring with me?

add remove

Bring with you a water bottle and a sports towel if you have it. We have fountains to refill your bottle on site.

Do I need my own boxing gloves?

add remove

No! Rumble Subiaco will lend you boxing gloves for the day which are cleaned before each use. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer though.

Is there parking?

add remove

Parking is limited, so plan your transport ahead of time. The Subiaco Train Station is just a short walk away, consider using public transport or carpooling with teammates.

Alternatively, you can see parking options at the City of Subiaco website.

Can my friend/family come watch me box?

add remove

Unfortunately, due to the small size of the gym, we can’t facilitate any additional people besides participants, staff and volunteers. We encourage you to share you progress on social media so they can follow along.

Will there be medical on site?

add remove

Yes! We will have on site medics from St John Ambulance in case of emergencies.

What if I am sick/can’t attend on the day?

add remove

Feel free to reach out to us at fundraising@pchf.org.au if you can no longer make it. Your team mates can fill your spot and we can register them on the day if needed.
