Hi everyone, we are Rara (Rach), Coco (Nic), Pa (Tim) and Aunty Tilly, aka The Goose Girls & a Gander - and we are Running for Harrie.
Harriet May was our beautiful great niece, granddaughter, and niece, who was born with a heart condition and multiple complications. She spent five weeks in the Perth Children's Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), fighting for her life with her favourite toy Goose by her side. Sadly, she passed away on November 27th, 2023. She was only five weeks old.
Along with her incredibly brave Mama’s Hannah & Catherine, we are so grateful for the amazing care and support that Harrie received from the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital and PICU. They did everything they could to save her and make her comfortable. They went above and beyond, and we are forever grateful for their dedication, care, love and support they provided Harrie’s family.
That's why we, two middle-aged geese, a middle-aged gander and some goslings decided to honour Harrie's memory by running five fun runs in five months, to represent the way too short five weeks of her life, all spent in the PICU. We want to raise money and awareness for the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation, so that they can continue to provide the best possible care for sick children and their families.
We kick off with our first 5km challenge on Feb 18 in Elwood, followed by a 10km on April 28 in Ballarat, 15km on May 18 in Apollo Bay, a half marathon on June 9 on the Mornington Peninsula and a second half marathon on July 21 in Melbourne. We are aiming to raise as much money as we can and would love your support and generosity to help us reach our goal. Every dollar counts and makes a difference.

One half marathon down!
Tuesday 9th Jul Harriet’s Goose Girls & a Gander Challenge #4 21.1km Half Marathon Run. 🏃♀️💜🪿 It was our toughest yet in terms of how our bodies felt…minds were there but gosh we had to dig deep. 😳 Tim ran impressively but I could not have gotten through without my gorgie sis Nic who at the 18km mark pulled me out of a negative mindset. 🙏 Thanks so much to our support crew Tilly & TF, Frankie & Ellie May. 🐾🐾 I am forever grateful to our community & tribe who have supported, donated, cheered and encouraged us on our fundraising for PCH PICU in honour of our gorgeous Harriet. We have raised in excess of $3k so far!! 👏 A personal thank you to my osteo of over 25 years, Dean from Osteopathy One who has always been in my corner when I come up with my physical goals AND gets me there, and my friend and PT Jaime Lee from years past who champions what I do and loaned me her amazing recovery boots!
